Space Warfront Privacy Policy

How data is handled in the Space Warfront Android app. Last updated: October 8, 2026.

In short

Space Warfront does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, ads, analytics, in-app purchases or third-party SDKs. Your progress stays on your device and multiplayer works only over the local network between the players' devices: nothing is sent to me or to external servers.

Who I am and what this covers

The Space Warfront app (package ID app.spacewarfront) is developed and published by Marco Lombardo, who for what is described on this page is also the data controller under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

For any question you can write to me at marco.lombardo@gmail.com.

This policy covers the Space Warfront Android app only. For the website this page is on, see the site's privacy page.

You can find it on the Space Warfront listing on Google Play and inside the app, from the «Privacy» button on the main screen.

What data I collect

None. The app does not send personal data or usage data to me or to anyone else. In particular:

  • it has no accounts and requires no sign-up;
  • it does not use the advertising ID or any other device or user identifier;
  • it does not access location, contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera or calendar;
  • it shows no ads and, in the current version, has no in-app purchases or chat; the only link that leads out of the app is the one to this policy, which opens in the browser;
  • it includes no analytics, crash-reporting or other third-party SDKs: the only libraries are the ones needed to run the game on the device.

Fonts, images, sounds and music are bundled with the app or generated on the device: the game downloads nothing from the internet and contacts no servers.

In terms of Google Play's data categories (personal info, financial info and payments, health and fitness, messages, photos and videos, audio, files and docs, calendar, contacts, location, app activity, web browsing, app info and performance, device or other IDs): none is collected, meaning none is transmitted off the device to me or to anyone else.

Data stored on your device

To remember how you are playing, the app saves in the device's local storage:

  • the levels you have unlocked and the stars you have earned;
  • audio settings (music on or off, effects and music volume);
  • the language you chose, if you changed it;
  • the last settings chosen for Battle mode and which ship cards you have already seen.

This data is never sent to me or to anyone else, cannot be used to identify you, and stays on the device until you delete it: uninstall the app, or go to Android Settings → Apps → Space Warfront → Storage → Clear data.

The app allows Android's automatic backup. If you have device backup turned on, Android may copy this data to your Google account, according to your settings and Google's policy; I have no access to those backups. If you don't want that, turn off backup in your device settings.

Permissions the app requests

The app requests only «normal» network permissions, granted at install time without prompting you. They are used solely for multiplayer on the local network:

  • INTERNET: opening connections between the players' devices. The game does not use the internet and contacts no servers; the app is set up to accept local resources only;
  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: knowing whether the device is on a Wi-Fi network, to warn you when it isn't;
  • CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE: receiving match announcements broadcast on the local network.

Same-Wi-Fi multiplayer

When you host or join a match, the devices talk directly to each other over the local network:

  • the host broadcasts on the local network an announcement with the match's three-letter code, the number of players, the map size and the game version;
  • during the match the devices exchange the match state and game commands.

To communicate, the devices need to know each other's local IP address: the other participants, and anyone connected to the same network, can therefore see your device's local IP address. The app does not exchange usernames, accounts, device identifiers or any other personal content.

This data does not reach me or any external server and is not kept after the match. Communication on the local network is not encrypted: I recommend playing on networks you trust, because on a public Wi-Fi other connected people could see the match announcements and try to join.

How I use data and who it is shared with

In short, for each type of data:

  • Data collected by me or sent to me: none.
  • Progress and settings (on the device only): I use them solely so you can resume the game where you left off, with your preferences; I share them with no one.
  • Local IP address and match data (multiplayer only, on the local network only): they are needed only to run the match; I share them only with the other participants in the match and with devices on the same network, and they are not kept.
  • Types of parties I share data with: none. There are no analytics or crash-reporting providers, ad networks, cloud services, data brokers or other recipients.

Sharing with third parties

I do not sell, hand over or share data with third parties, and I make no data transfers to countries outside the EU.

If you install the app from Google Play, Google processes some data (for example installs and updates and, if you turned it on, diagnostics) under its own privacy policy. From the Play Console I only receive aggregated statistics, such as the number of installs and any reported crashes.

Children

Space Warfront does not collect personal data from anyone, children included. It contains no ads, in-app purchases, chat or accounts; the only link that leads out of the app is the one to this policy.

Retention, deletion and security

Retention: I keep no data on servers or systems of mine. The data saved on the device (see above) stays there until you delete it, and what is exchanged in multiplayer is not kept after the match.

Deletion: you can delete the saved data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its data from Android settings. Since there are no accounts and no data on my systems, there is no account or data deletion procedure to request from me.

Security: the data saved on the device is protected by Android's app sandbox. No personal data travels over the internet; traffic on the local network between the players' devices is not encrypted, but it carries only match state and game commands, not personal data (the local IP address is, in any case, already known to the network itself).

Your rights

Since I do not process your personal data, there is nothing I can provide, correct or delete from my systems; the app has no accounts, so there is no account to delete. The rights granted by the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability) still apply and you can exercise them by writing to me, along with the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) or with the authority of your country.

Under California privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA), I do not sell or share personal information.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects data (for example with ads, purchases, accounts or analytics), I will update this page and the date at the top before release, together with the data safety declaration on Google Play.
